FAQ

What are your rugs made out of?

I make my rugs using 100% Acrylic yarn, or a blend of Acrylic and wool yarn. The backing is felt material, but it can also be a non-slip rubber backing if preferred.

How long does it take you to make a rug?

For smaller rugs with only 1 to 2 colors, it typically takes around 5 hours tufting it, 12+ hours for the glue that holds the yarn in place to dry, and another 1 to 2 hours to trim the rug and glue the backing of the rug on. With bigger rugs that have more complex designs, it can take me anywhere from 15 to 30 hours of tufting, along with the glue drying and putting on the backing of the rug.

How do I order a custom/commissioned rug?

You can send me a DM on Instagram @RawRugs, or email me through the contact page. Make sure you tell me what design or type of rug you want, such as a character, print, or pattern; tell me how big you want the rug to be ( the maximum size is around 45 x 45 inches), and tell me what colors you would like and what type o backing you’d like, such as felt or a rubber non-slip backing. From there we can discuss prices and shipping if needed.

Can I have a free or discounted rug?

My rugs are on the more expensive side because of the time and materials that go into each rug. Not only am I making these rugs, I also go to school and have a part time job. I may do giveaways for free small rugs in the future, and I might give discounts or promo codes to people that buy many rugs or if they refer friends to my website.

About Raw Rugs

Your Ultimate Source for Hand-Made Rugs

I Started in December 2020, and began making rugs with a tufting machine and fell in love with it. It's turned into a new hobby especially because of Covid-19.
On this site I plan to showcase and sell some rugs that I make, and also share other rugs I thought turned out really well.
DM @RawRugs for more info, and make sure to support your local Black-owned business, such as mine!
